It's fun to stay at the YMCA

Wow! Wow! Wow! It's been another fun-filled, jam-packed, end-of-term camp at Shakespear Park for Years 4-6. Even the torrential downpours didn't dampen the spirit or the wonderful sense of teamwork and adventure shown by our children as they tackled challenges such as mountainboarding, coasteering, orienteering and air rifle shooting.

They learned how to cook delicious pancakes on different types of outdoor stoves; how to construct shelters to survive in the bush; how to stay safe when boating and what to do in an emergency. Some children even learned how to use walkie-talkie radios and had fun playing Hide-and-Seek with only their sense of sound to guide them to their friends.

Thanks, once again, to the incredible staff at the YMCA and also to our fantastic parents, who manned the kitchens, supported children in activities, contributed baking and did the night duties. Our camps would not operate as smoothly without all of you and your help and support is much appreciated.
